Project Engineer


Job Description


Provide needed support to estimating, business development, and project management for achieving the goals of each company department, by utilizing defined best practices and processes, and using thorough and professional communications. Maintain positive culture throughout the company.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to project management team
    • Assist project team in all facets of project execution and cost management
    • Establish and maintain all project files relating to the contract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, schedule and clarifications upload and/or distribute in a timely manner
    • Project schedule maintenance
    • Maintain construction data relating to projects including, but not limited to, RFI’s, RFQ’s, change orders, meeting minutes and photos
    • Punch list issuance and tracking of timely completion
    • Contract draft with information from PM and work flow routing from internal approvals for insurance
  • Provide support to estimating
    • Perform accurate digital quantity take offs for estimating that align with estimating assemblies
    • Server file set-up and web plan room ITB set-up with project plans and specs
    • Print and distribute plan and specification hard copies as needed
  • Project Set-up
    • Process and secure local building permit(s)
    • Order and distribute required copies of construction documents
    • Utility service applications
    • Website document sharing site set-up and general maintenance
  • Purchasing
    • Subcontract and Purchase Order issuance
  • Execute change order per company best practice process
    • Expedite vendor proposals and prepare company estimates and proposals for changes to be submitted to the Owner
    • Approved Change processing. Expedite Subcontract and PO commitment change orders and job cost information to Accounting
  • Job Meeting Minutes and Distribution
    • Log change order requests pending/approved/rejected
    • Progress job photos in conjunction with meeting minutes
  • Provide support to Special Projects Division as needed and requested with priority given to PM work

  • Project management, customer relations management, and estimating take-off software proficiency   

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

  • Accurate, complete and on-time take-off data
  • Timely and accurate processing of PM information
  • Positive field personal, office staff, and vendor feedback on PE functions
